Beckham Wins 100th Cap
David Beckham won his 100th cap for England but there was no celebrations as his side were
beaten 1-0 by France.
The LA Galaxy midfielder played just over 60 minutes of the game in Paris before being substituted for David Bentley.
He was given a standing ovation as he came off the pitch, watched on by his family including wife Victoria.
One low point in his 100th game was getting a booking after about half an hour for shirt pulling in the Stade de France match.
France got the only goal in the international friendly through a Franck Ribery penalty after 31 minutes.
Beckham said about reaching his 100th cap "I'm very honoured. Straight from when I started playing for England I never dreamed I'd get 100 caps, and hopefully
beyond.
"I'm happy but like I said during the week I want to carry on. Of course things can change but I want to carry on playing for my country."

Beckham to stay at La Galaxy
After much speculation La
Galaxy president Alexi Lalas insisted David Beckham is not for sale to Newcastle or any other club.
The England midfielder was being linked to the Magpies earlier this week as new manager Kevin Keegan started his search for new
players.
Newcastle privately dismissed the rumours, and Lalas has reiterated that Beckham is simply not for sale.
Lalas said, “I can confidently say there is absolutely no truth in the speculation linking David with a move to Newcastle United.
“David is gearing up for his 100th game for England and we are proud and excited for him.
“We have had no contact from any representatives for Newcastle United, but I recognise that there will always be speculation surrounding
him.
“David is not for sale at any price.”

BECKHAM SCORES IN NEW ZEALAND
A record New Zealand football crowd watched Los Angeles Galaxy beat the Wellington Phoenix 4-1 in a friendly
match Saturday.
The supporters noise level rose every time the 32-year-old England star touched the ball, even though the bulk of the 31,853 crowd -- a New Zealand record
for a football match -- were supporting the home team.
When the Galaxy were awarded penalty the jeers turned to cheers when Beckham stepped up and blasted the spot kick high into the right of the net for the Galaxy's final
goal.
Beckham said it was good for the Galaxy to end their two-match tour Down Under on a winning note, following a 5-3 loss to
Sydney on Tuesday.
"We played the ball around well and enjoyed it," he said.
But the result did not mean much to the crowd, who were happy just to see their hero in the flesh.
Beckham leaves New Zealand on Sunday, achieving his goal of lifting the profile of football in a country known more
for it's rugby.

David Beckham Ruled Out For Premiership Loan
Los Angeles Galaxy have said David Beckham will not be allowed to return to the Premier League on loan during the winter break in
America.
La Galaxy want David Beckham to remain in America to rest and avoid any chance of
another injury setback ahead of the new season which gets under way in April.
Several Premier League clubs were in talks in bringing the winger back to England during the winter break,
but LA Galaxy owner Tim Leiweke has ruled out such a move.
"It will never happen. David is our property. For David to play in England in the off-season is not in his
best interests or ours," Leiweke quoted.
Beckham is currently with the England squad for their friendly in Austria on Friday evening
before they face their important final Euro 2008 qualifier against Croatia at Wembley next week.

Ruud Gullit Takes Over La Galaxy
Gullit agreed to a three-year contract that makes the 45-year-old Dutchman one of the league's highest-paid coaches.
Gullit succeeds Frank Yallop, who quit to return to San Jose for a second time with the Earthquakes.
Gullit met with Beckham and his teammates before Friday's news conference.
The Galaxy also introduced former star Cobi Jones as an assistant coach. Jones retired following this season after spending his
entire MLS career in Los Angeles.
Gullit admitted he doesn't know a lot about the MLS or the players but will use the experience and knowledge of Cobi Jones.
La Galaxy v Hollywood United
La Galaxy took part in a football exhibition match against Hollywood United, a team consisting of actors, musicians and
former players.

wildfires.
David Beckham scored two goals in the first half in the 12-4 win.
Among those playing for Hollywood United were Def Leppard guitarist Viv Campbell, Anthony LaPaglia, former players Jorge Campos,Eric Wynalda and Frank LeBoeuf and

Beckham invite for England legends
David Beckham has been offered the chance to play for an 'England Legends' XI in December But this will depend on
the commitments his club in America, LA Galaxy, might have at that time.
Beckham has not been at full fitness since playing through pain at the end of last season with Real Madrid and has only
played in a handful of games for England and his new club Los Angeles Galaxy.
PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor said: "We have invited David, who is an ambassador in our centenary year, to play at
the City of Manchester Stadium. If he is available we would want him to play for the England Legends team."

Russia which takes place on Wednesday night - has given Shaun Wright-Phillips a chance to claim the right-wing position.
30th August Beckham injured in Superliga final
The LA Galaxy captain hurt his knee in Wednesday night's Superliga final against Mexican champions Pachuca.
Beckham suffered the injury in the 31st minute as both he and Fernando Salazar clashed while competing for the ball.
The Galaxy were beaten 4-3 on
penalty kicks after playing to a 1-1 tie after 90 minutes and 30 minutes of overtime. Beckham, who rejoined his team on the bench for overtime and the penalty kicks, limped
off the field afterwards and is expected to be out for 6/8 weeks.

NY Red Bulls 5 - 4 LA Galaxy
LA Galaxy were narrowly defeated in a match played out in front of a MLS record crowd of 66,000 who were on the edge of
their seats through out the game. David Beckham started and went the full 90+ minutes at Giants stadium tonight.
Giants Stadium is nearly empty for most Red Bulls' games _ the team's average of 11,573 for its first 10 home matches was
next to last in the league. The crowd that came out for Beckham was the largest in franchise history and the largest there for a U.S. league game since the Cosmos drew 70,312
against Fort Lauderdale on June 22, 1980.
With his injured left ankle still heavily bandaged and lacking match fitness he played with great determination.
With three assists and creating most of the Galaxy's attacking opportunities he kept the Galaxy in the game but the New York Red Bulls were the better team and snatched
the victory in the end. Although it was only captain Beckham's second start and his first full game in over 8 weeks he has already had a major effect on the Galaxy who bear little
resemblance to the team that lost to the New England Revolution.

Beckham playing his first full game in La Galaxy away shirt.
Until last night, Beckham had played only 100 minutes since his Galaxy debut nearly a month ago. But last night he was
forced to play the full game after an early injury to a teammate changed the Galaxy’s substitution plans.
“I was surprised to actually play 90 minutes,” Beckham said. “My ankle took quite a bit of pounding on
the turf. It’s a surface I’m not used to.”
Beckham will now join England’s national team as it prepares for Wednesday’s friendly against Germany in
the UK. Then he will travel 5,400 miles to appear in the Galaxy’s game against Chivas USA on Thursday night.

Beckham scores his first goal for LA Galaxy
David Beckham scored his first goal for LA GALAXY and set up the second For Donovan as La Galaxy beat DC
United 2-0 in their semi-final meeting at the Home Depot Center last night to send his team into the inaugural SuperLiga final.
Beckham's goal was a trademark free-kick in the 28th minute sending the La Galaxy fans crazy then set up the
second with a pass for Landon Donovan to score.

The England midfielder started the match and played 63 minutes before being subbed midway through the
second half.
The only minor hiccup was his yellow card for a foul on DC United's Jaime Moreno in his 18th
minute.
Beckham said after the game "It was nice to get the early goal," he said. "But it was not just about my
goal and Landon's goal.
"I think it was a team performance that was exceptional, we worked hard as a team and played hard as a team and we won as
a team.
"So it was more pleasing for the performance.
"I've always said that everybody has to be patient. I had to let nature take its course with my ankle. It's an injury and
there wasn't much I could do about that.
"I was happy to be out there with the team and happy to be playing again so we're very happy."
LA Galaxy will now take on Mexican side CF Pachuca on 29 August for the SuperLiga title.
9th August
David Beckham played the final 21 minutes in the Los Angeles Galaxy's 1-0 loss to D.C. United
at the RFK Stadium on Thursday night, the biggest debut for a foreign star in a U.S. soccer league since Pele arrived in 1975.
"It's not nice to disappoint people," Beckham said. "It's not nice to disappoint people that paid a lot of money to come
and see the game. I was glad to get on the pitch tonight. It was a good night, but it was a bad night, too, because we ended up losing the game."
The sellout crowd of 46,686, roared when the 32-year-old star stripped off his warmup jacket and T-shirt, then put
on his No. 23 jersey and replaced Quavas Kirk in the 72nd minute.
The crowd cheered everytime Beckham touched the ball.
The former captain of England's national team did get one free kick, but it was from 40 yards out .
He hit it into the penalty area, where Carlos Pavon headed the ball over the crossbar.

Since joining the Galaxy, Beckham had made only a 16-minute appearance as a substitute against England's Chelsea. He then
missed all three of the Galaxy's SuperLiga games as well as Sunday's scoreless MLS draw at Toronto.
22nd July
DAVID BECKHAM finally made his debut in a LA Galaxy
Football Shirt when he came on as a substitute for the last 12 minutes against Chelsea.

England midfielder Beckham, got a massive reception from the
capacity crowd 27,000 at the Home Depot Center, although he has been struggling with an ankle injury he still showed touches of quality.
Beckham said afterwards: "It was very emotional - I think just proud of the way people reacted to
me today personally.
"I think to have a full stadium like we did today is credit to the supporters and credit to the people in LA that have
supported the MLS for many years, and with a full stadium tonight it has been amazing.
"The reaction to me when I just either take my top off or kick the ball has been incredible but it makes me feel a little
bit embarrassed at times when I get that sort of reaction.
"But it's incredible and I have to thank the people and the fans for coming out to watch the game tonight."
"I'm not fit and I haven't trained since I have been out here," added Beckham. "The ankle is swollen and we'll see how it
is tomorrow.
"I sprained it in the England game and I played four days after I pulled the ligaments.
"Then I had the last game of the Spanish season a week after and I had three injections to numb it and I played in that
game without any feeling in my foot.
"There are always going to be problems after that but that's what I wanted to do, to play in that game.
Chelsea won 1-0 with captain John Terry scoring the only goal just after the break, with a powerful shot.
Among the crowd were Beckham's wife, Victoria, and their children with actresses Katie Holmes, Eva Longoria,
Jennifer Love Hewitt, Californian Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and actors Ray Winstone and John Hurt .
DAVID BECKHAM has left Real Madrid to join US soccer team
LOS ANGELES GALAXY in the MLS soccer league on a 5 year deal.

profit coming from the sales of the LA GALAXY
soccer jersey, and other Beckham merchandice.
Beckham is expected to join Major league soccer team LA GALAXY
in July summer 2007 when the new jersey will be unveiled on Friday 13th.
